The idea is you load the VST into the DAW and it generates an audio pulse to a specific output on your interface. The VST plugin is used to help you have the DAW sync up both audio and MIDI. It's a great device that changed my workflow overnight! Needless to say, the sync out works perfectly with Pam's Workout modules when using Modular Whip. With Renoise you can get the sync sample from E-RM site or draw your own pulse waveform (~50 samples high) and with R02 command retrigger the sample to sync perfectly. For Ableton Live users, there's native CV Clock Out plugin and with 24 PPQN setting the Multiclock syncs perfectly.
